With so many mobile devices like smartphones around these days which are capable of filming and recording conversations, traffic police may soon be a little more careful in how they deal with the public. One policeman will for sure.

He is now the unfortunate star of a widely-viewed YouTube video. In it, he appears to asking for what Thai speakers call "tea money," or what English speakers call a "bribe". The video was uploaded by a YouTube channel user named hatethaipolice on Thursday.

In the clip, the motorist was stopped by the officer, presumably somewhere in Bangkok. The motorist handed a document and his driver's licence to the officer and explained to him that his car was new and did not have a regular licence plate yet.

The officer then told the motorist that he did not need to read the document and that he was guilty for not registering his car with the Land Transport Department and for strapping items to the roof of the vehicle.

"Do you want me to issue a ticket?" the officer asked. "Issue it," the driver replied.
The officer did not issue the ticket and then asked the driver where he was going.
The driver told him that he was going to Chachoengsao province and he was an employee of a telephone company.
The policeman then made an offer to the driver and said, "I won't issue the ticket but you can show me a little kindness."
He then asked for 300 baht to buy coffee.
Another man in the car told the officer that it would be better to issue the ticket.
The driver added that his company would pay the fine.
"I'll let you go this time," the policeman told them.

Dog har det været mere grådige Police Officers, som starter med, at forlange 2000 bht.

Det ender altid på 2-300 bht. selv om man er totalt uskyldig.
Hvorfor betaler man så.?

Thja, for at være ærlig, gider jeg ikke spilde 4 timer på politi stationen, selvom jeg sikkert ville slippe for den uretmæssige
bøde.

Ja, ja, ja, jeg ved godt at jeg er med til på denne måde at fremme korruptionen, men mit liv er for kort til lange
ophold på Thai Politi stationer.

Jej blev for nogle år siden stoppet 12 gange mens jeg kørte non stop Nong Khai til Krabi. Prisen per stop var omkring 200 Baht fordi jeg enten havde kørt for hurtigt, for langsomt, forkerte vejbane, forkerte lygter, blinket til højre for overhaling, eller bare fordi jeg var der. Værst var det syd for Bangkok om natten....

Dejligt at se, at også Thai'er er ved at være godt "trætte" af deres super korupte politi, har også selv været udsat for, forsøg på at lave lidt lommepenge :-)
Har altid lidt "småpenge" i den ene lomme ( 2-300 bath ) og de store "tusser" et andet sted, ser de først "tusserne" så kan de blive kreative.

Men det er dejligt at se at de 2 thaier har op-loadet dette video klip, det kunne måske føre til at der kommer mere af det på nettet, og det bliver for meget, selv for det thailandske politi :-)
