Three large banks — Bangkok Bank (BBL), Siam Commercial Bank (SCCool and Kasikornbank (KBank) — are reaping a windfall from the current run on deposits at the state-owned Government Savings Bank (GSCool, with...a large portion of the 30 billion baht withdrawn from the GSB landing in their deposits accounts. A number of depositors opened accounts and deposited billions of baht into branches of these banks on Monday alone, said SCB executive vice-president Smith Banomyong, adding that the bank has not finalised... the figure yet.
