Ny skandinavisk klub i Krabi har første møde i dag i restaurant Nyhavn

KRABI: join the club
It is well-known that visitors from the Scandinavian countries make up a large proportion of foreign visitors to Krabi - especially in the dark and cold European winter months.

A recent spate of business openings, such as restaurants Absolut and Nyhavn and the brand new Scandinavian Residence in Ao Nang, show just how much this sector is developing.

Now, some local Swedish and Danish expats are looking to create an informal organisation for the growing number of Scandinavian residents in Krabi. Its aim is to be mainly a social club, with food, drink and entertainment events, but also to provide a network of support for new and existing members - for example in their search for housing, setting up a business and so on.

The idea is also to discuss new developments in the area and how they will affect the members.

The first, planning meeting (to arrange how the club will be set up and run) will be held on 16 February at 7pm at Nyhavn in Krabi Town (opposite Cafe Europa).

All Danish, Norwegian and Swedish expats, as well as curious non-Scandinavians are welcome and encouraged to come along: the club will only work with local support.
