The Orchid is Thailand's best flowering export. Exports of the Orchid are valued at US$250million per annum. 42. The tablet form of the drug 'Methamphetamine' is known as Ya-Ba (Crazy Medicine). More popular though, is its original name 'Ya-Ma' which translates as 'Horse Medicine' Contrary to popular belief that the slang came from 'having the power of a horse', the name did in fact come from the logo which was printed on the pill when it was once legally sold over the counter in Thailand. Methamphatamine sold in its original form and distributed by the pharmaceutical comapny 'Wellcome' had its logo of a horse's head stamped on each tablet. Due to the side-effects Methamphetamine was banned from the over-the-counter sales in 1972. 43. "Red Bull", the popular energy drink found in many places throughout the world, is based on the Thai soft drink "Krating Daeng" much favoured by Thai Tuk-Tuk drivers. 44. Thailand produces and exports wine. 45. They have the nicest cars but "authentic" Thai hi-so women never drive 46. 18 original watches celebrating the King of Thailand's 60 year on the throne are to be auctioned at this year's 'Central Retail International Watch Fair' to be held between 29 Aug - 25 Sept 2006 in Bangkok. The name of the monument however, does not live up to much of a victory. Just four years later and with the defeat of the Japanese, Thailand was forced to hand, what it had won - back to the French! 56. On top of all that, M.R. Kukrit, 12 years prior to becoming the Prime Minister, played the part of the 'Prime Minister of Thailand' alongside Marlon Brando in the movie 'The Ugly American'. |

Denne passer ikke i følge WTO er Thailand nr 3 eller 4 (alt efter udbyttet det år) på deres liste, listen bliver toppet af USA og så ligger Idien og Thailand og Cambodia og slås om de næste pladser..men ellers er det en masse sjove "fackts" man skal nok tage el del af det med et gran salt..... |

Hmmmm som jeg også skriver er det med at tage disse facts med et gran salt, jeg vil stadig mene jeg har ret, men det kommer an på hvordan man gør tallet op, så du har også ret, hvis du forstår hvad jeg mener ?? Artiklen jeg læste var om Thailand/USAs opgør over Jasmin risene, da Thailænderne mener de er de eneste der kan lave disse, mens amerikanerne mener de også kan, minder lidt om vores Fetaost hjemme..... med at vi ikke kan sælge Feta kun grækerne kan det m.m. heri stod der bl.a. at Thailand længe havde ligget efter USA men var på vej frem og indtog nu 3. pladsen... Jeg skulle ikke have skrevet Cambodia i mit første indlæg men Vietnam, fik lige byttet lidt rundt men sjove facts helt sikkert og jeg kan da kaste en anden bold op og sige at til # 18 at det kommer vel an på hvilken mand der kigger, det er lidt det samme som at sige at alle danskere er voldsmænd der ødelægger fodboldkampe |

Vi skulle måske efterhånden lave en liste til den oprindelige forfatter, der hedder "ting på din liste som du ikke vidste om Thailand."
