Legionella Disease
Getting to know more about Legionella Disease

A man contracted Legionella disease from a hotel in Pattaya and even though his condition improved, to protect and prevent this from happening again,

health officials held a meeting to discuss this issue on 23rd August. Legionella is an infectious disease caused by aquatic bacteria that thrives in warm environments. Many outbreaks have occurred especially in hotels; caused mainly from infected hotel water systems. Legionnaires’ disease is the more severe form of the infection which produces pneumonia and can be fatal.

Deputy Mayor Weerawat Kakhai chaired the meeting having many hoteliers and management attending. They have now formed a group of volunteers from this case to take care of the water systems in hotels around Pattaya.
