BRITISH COUPLE ALLEGEDLY GANG RAPED ON KOH CHANG BY FOREIGNERS A British couple have reported to the UK press that they had been involved in a date rape incident on the popular Thai holiday island of Koh Chang. Koh Chang, 28th of November 2009 [PDN]: A leading English newspaper has recently reported the account of a British couple who allege to have been involved in a date rape incident whilst holidaying in Thailand. The couple, Richard age 42 and Susan age 31 (last name withheld), allege that after befriending an Englishwoman and a couple of Frenchmen in a bar on the holiday island of Koh Chang, they were taken back to their bungalow and raped after having been drugged. The couple allege that after drinking several beverages with their new found friends they left the table and their drinks to go somewhere, at which point they believe that their drinks were spiked with a date rape drug. Both Richard and Susan have limited recollection of the events following but no that they were incapacitated in their bungalow for nearly 2 days following the incident. The couple have a distinctly blurred memory of the assault and the culprits. Richard informed local authorities and officials from the British Embassy of the incident but stated to the English press that he did not believe that they were too concerned or that they would take any action. Richard and Susan explained that they both had gone to the local doctor - after regaining full consciousness - where they were examined. The doctor apparently confirmed their suspicions that they had been sexually abused but also did apparently not seem too surprised at the story (as if it was a common situation). He explained to the couple that their symptoms suggested that they had ingested the date rape drug Dormicum. The couple have subsequently left Thailand and returned to the UK to be with their family. In their opinion nothing will be done about the incident, but they decided to release their story to the press in the hopes that their ordeal would warn others of the potential dangers of meeting strangers whilst travelling in a foreign country. A Thai Police spokesman strenuously denied that they were not taking the couple's complaint seriously and said an investigation was under way at present to find the culprits. A spokesman from the British Embassy stated that, “The consular team in Bangkok have been in touch throughout to give help and advice to the British nationals involved and are urgently following up with the Thai police,” contradicting the couples report that the British authorities did nothing to help their situation. det vel en slags råhypnol eller hva fanden det nu engang hedder. farlige sager, kan huske (eller rettere har fået fortalt) den gang man lejede med dumme piller og streger, der var vist også et par gange hvor man åd dem sammen med alkohol.. en god coktail det var det, men fuck en brandert! Når en fremmed bor som gæst i jeres land, må I ikke udnytte ham eller hende. Den fremmede, der bor som gæst hos jer, skal være som en af landets egne, og du skal elske ham eller hende som dig selv

Ian ([url]www.iamkohchang.com[/url]) tilføjer: The alleged perpetrators were apparently a couple of fairly well known French guys and an Englishwoman, all from Pattaya and not Thais or anyone actually living on the island. According to the police report they met their ‘victims’ in Sabay Bar on White Sand Beach, drugged them and then went back to the couple’s bungalow at White Sand Garden, a small resort located inland in the centre of White Sand beach, about 5 minutes walk away from the bar, where the attack then took place. /Crafack |
